Trade was choppy on account of the current month derivatives contracts expiry on Thursday. Indices swung between positive and negative zones with shares of metal and power companies rising while those of banks and FMCG dragged.
Global cues were mixed from Asia, though US markets ended with modest gains. Crude oil declined marginally, after rising more than $4 a barrel on Wednesday. Inflation data expected after market hours will also drive sentiment,
