Equities end flat on short-covering

Smart recovery towards close of trading session mostly led by short-covering in banking stocks helped benchmarks close on a flat note. the recover was mainly because of the news that Oil minster Mr Deora says that Petrol, diesel prices will not be cut for now

Bombay Stock Exchange’s Sensex closed at 14,538.94, down 25.59 points or 0.18 per cent. It touched a high of 14,538.94 and low of 14,281.10.

National Stock Exchange’s Nifty ended flat at 4360.55. The 50-share index touched a high of 4,365 and low of 4,281.35.
