Heavy selling, triggered by weak global cues and depreciating rupee, sent stocks further lower. Losses in realty and oil & gas stocks mounted. Midcaps and smallcaps, however, were less affected.
Traders said the shaky global sentiment overshadowed xpectations for lower inflation and relatively soft oil prices.
