Japan's Nikkei tumbled 3.12% or 257.83 points at 7,999.02.
Singapore's Straits Times fell 2.37% or 41.39 points at 1,705.60.
South Korea's Seoul Composite declined 2.73% or 31.36 points at 1,119.29.
Taiwan's Taiwan Weighted shed 2.24% or 97.63 points at 4,269.13.
