Key indices picked up steam as investors fished for stocks in the beaten down metal space. Consumer durables, auto and technology stocks were also in demand. Capital goods edged lower. But caution ahead of inflation data limited the upside.
Market breadth on BSE showed 1312 advances and 924 declines.
